Through hounding, step-for-step defense against the Chicago Sky during a lockdown in the second quarter, one could say that Dojkić left her talk supported with “walk.” Offering one of many plays that kickstarted an outcome-shifting 21-5 run to close the first half, Dojkić matches Dana Evans’ physicality flawlessly, ultimately picking the ball clean before connecting on an in-traffic transition layup. A capable 3-and-D threat throughout her rookie campaign in the Pacific Northwest, Dojkić utilized the added opportunity to showcase it further on July 13, 2024, with 12 points (on a near-perfect four-of-five shooting), two rebounds, one steal, and two 3-pointers in 17 minutes. Dojkić’s guidance of the second unit helped New York withstand the absence of two different All-Star forwards, using a come-from-behind win to move to a league-best 20-4.
